Previewing a single movie clip

There are two ways of previewing your movie. You can either preview the whole of you movie (all movie clips together) of just the current clip (small part of the whole movie).

To preview your movie clip, click on the button which says "Preview", which is found underneath the preview image on the left side of FadeToBlack.

The screen should then show the "Preview Video" feature on the right hand side of the screen as shown in the next diagram.

The video preview will begin rendering immediately, and so that you can preview the video more quickly it will only render every 3rd frame. You can change the number of frames that are rendered with the "Render every..." drop-down selection box shown below. If you choose to render every 2nd frame or every frame then your preview will take longer to render.

The default location of the rendered preview is "C:\preview.avi". This can be changed by entering a new location in the filename input box shown here.

You can also click of the browse button to navigate to the location where you wish to save your temporary preview AVI file.

The standard windows file save dialog is shown when you click the browse button.

If you have stopped the rendering to change either the "Render every..." option or the location of the preview AVI file, then you will need to restart the rendering by clicking on the "Render" button shown here.

There is a progress bar which will show you how much of the preview rendering has been completed.

Once the rendering is done the playback will start immediately.

To return to the main menu of FadeToBlack press the "Main Menu" button at the top-right corner of FadeToBlack 2.0.
